Letter to the NYS Government Officials: Saving our NYS Historical Sites
Lou Meyers, BVMA Secretary, was asked at the BVMA Membership Meeting to write on "Saving our NYS Historical Sites". The letter (linked below) is our voice to the NYS Government Officials to keep our Historical Sites open. The letter was sent to:

News from the Annual Delegate's Meeting
The Annual Delegate's Meeting was held on Saturday, January 15. Following is a quick summary of the major news from the meeting.
- Executive Officers
The only change in executive officers is the Secretary position. Lou Meyers will be acting Secretary for 2011, taking over for Jim Sparks until next year. The officers are:
- Chairman: Art Haponski
- Deputy Chair: Mario Doreste
- Secretary: Lou Meyers
- Treasurer: Richard Casler
- Behind the Lines Chair: Chris Depta
- Guild Chair: Mike Kowalski
- Guild Treasurer: James Stewart
- Dues Changes!
For the year 2011, there will be a single UNIT cost as opposed to individual dues, as follows:
- For units numbering 10 members (over the age of 16) or less - $25
- For those with 11 or more members (over the age of 16) - $50.
Each Unit should send in a roster along with their dues for the year to the treasurer no later than the General Membership Meeting. Children under 16 should be listed on the roster, even though you are not paying dues for them, so that they can be included on the BVMA insurance.

- Annual Membership Meeting
The Annual Membership Meeting & Social will be held on Saturday, March 19th, 2011 at the Pine Tree Social Club in Johnstown. The BVMA will pay for the main food course. Plans for a Guest Speaker were discussed. Details.
- Awards: Soldier of the Year, Officer, Musician
Nominations for annual awards are due by March 1st. To nominate someone for one of the awards, send an email to , with the name of the person you are nominating, and a brief explanation of why you think this person deserves the award. This does not have to be an essay, but at least a few sentences. Please send nominations in by March 1st.
