Johnson Hall 18th Century Market Fair - June 7-8, 2008

Johnson hall State Historic Site, in conjunction with the Friends of Johnson Hall, is once again sponsoring its annual Market Fair on June 7 & 8, 2008. Johnson Hall's Market Fair is based on Johnstown's first market Fair held by Sir William Johnson in 1772. Once again this year participants are encouraged to sell whatever period correct old clothing, goods, or crafts they bring. Booth and blanket trading are both welcome.
There is a $25.00 setup fee for persons selling goods.

A varied schedule of fine entertainment will be presented throughout the weekend. Dr. Lehman will return to inform the publick about the most recent advances in medicine and surgery. Magicians - Bob Olson and Rodney the Younger - as well as Punch and Judy shows will perform. Music will be presented by Liaisons Plaisantes.

A dance will be held on Saturday evening on the carriage front of the Hall. At the same time fencing for gentlemen will take place in the courtyard. Wear your best; it will definitely be an opportunity to see and be seen.

New York State Parks and Recreation requires that all participants, including minor children under the supervision of parents or guardians, complete a volunteer form to participate in events at New York State Historic Sites. Enclosed are several forms. Please make sufficient copies for your unit and return with your completed registration to the address below.

We thank our friends for their participation as Market Fair continues to grow and change. We look forward to seeing everyone in June and until then I remain...
